GERCC Track Championship T1-001 final results
This festive finale was filled with holiday spirit, fierce competition, and just a hint of playful banter. Let’s unwrap the results and see who made it onto Santa’s podium!
Buggy Class – Kevin’s Christmas Miracle
In the buggy class, Kevin Schuck delivered a dominant performance that would make Santa proud, finishing with 239 points and securing his place as the festive season’s fastest. His Buggy sleighed the competition, proving once again that Kevin is the king of consistency.
Close behind was Simon Wales, who wrapped up the season with 231 points, narrowly missing the top spot. And rounding out the top three was Andrew Mather, whose Buggy brought the holiday cheer with a solid 224 points.
Special mention goes to Caitlin White, who finished 8th overall but gave the boys a run for their money all season.
Junior Mini Class – A Festive Family Affair
The Junior Mini class had its own festive drama, with Jamie Meade securing the title with 221 points, showing everyone that the next generation of racers is just as competitive as the veterans. Cat Mather finished second with 201 points, proving that her skills and determination are something to watch in future seasons. In third place, Finlay Mahon finished with 135 points, delivering a season filled with improvement and festive determination. Finlay’s efforts ensured he stayed ahead of the chasing pack and solidified his place on the podium. Great job, Finlay—Santa’s definitely putting you on the nice list this year!
And yes, Shane, you may have beaten Cat this time, but we all know who the rising star is. Keep an eye on your mirrors in the coming seasons—you might find her Mini gaining on you sooner than you think!
Mini Class – Daniel's Sleigh Flies High
In the Mini class, Daniel Sparrow delivered a masterclass, earning himself the title of Christmas Champion. Like Santa with his reindeer, Daniel guided his Mini to a perfect season with an unmatched score of 240 points. It seems Christmas came early for Daniel as he danced his way to the top with grace, style, and speed.
Hot on his heels was Wayne Meade, whose consistency throughout the season shone like Rudolph's red nose. Wayne's Mini may not have had a red nose, but it certainly brought home a shiny second-place finish with 231 points.
And now, let's talk about Shane Walker, who secured third place with 218 points. Shane, who’s been the subject of both praise and a bit of cheeky banter, had a surprising showdown with junior star Cat Mather. Despite Cat's youthful energy, Shane proved that sometimes experience (and perhaps a bit of Christmas luck) outweighs youthful exuberance.
GT12 Class – Chris is the Christmas Star
The GT12 class saw Chris Baldwin take the top spot with 239 points, proving he’s no stranger to the festive winner’s circle. Close behind were Colin Dunn with 236 points and Daniel Wales with 220 points, both of whom kept the competition merry and bright.

GERCC Track Championship T6-002 final results
Buggy: Even though it was his first buggy championship Andrew Mather surprisingly won beating Ian White, (who came in second, well done and well raced) by 1 point with the score of 236. Ben White finishes in third with 223 points to make the podium and Caitlin White came in fourth with the score of 218, well done!
Id also like to say if it wasn’t for the White family the buggy championship might not have been possible so a huge well done to you all! Also a smaller thank you to the new comer Andrew Mather who helped making the buggy championship possible.
Jnr Mini: Not surprisingly Jamie Meade came in first place with a score of 200 proving why he’s known as “Top Kid”, congratulations! Falling short of 200 by 33 points (167) is Cat Mather in second who has improved from third! With 141 points to earn himself a place on the podium at third is Harry Cooper, congratulations! Jaime Meade made the largest improvement of 10 point from the last championship as he held the score of 190, Harry Cooper made the second largest improvement from last championship with an improvement of 9 point, 134. Lastly cat made the smallest improvement out of the bunch with 161 points last championship so that’s an improvement of 6.
Mini: With a one point difference between 237 and 236, first and second, Simon Wales takes first finally beating Luke Drinan but not beating his previous scores as he had the same last championship but well done anyway! In second was Martyn Simms, unfortunately the unexpected car fire lost points for Martyn, but he did beat his previous score of 198, well done! Only 9 points behind second place, was Wayne Meade who took third with 227 points beating his old score of 213, congratulations!
GT12: This ones slightly odd with 237 points and a higher top score, Matthew Longman places in first, being the most successful GT12 driver to weave around the track, good job! Also with 237 points but a slightly lower score is Daniel Sparrow in second which is an improvement from last championship in points but sadly not in position, either way well done Daniel! In third place is Martyn Waterhouse with 220 points and a great improvement in position as he jumped from sixth to third, good going!
Well done to all who participated in this past championship and I hope you all have fun in this next one!

GERCC Track Championship T12-001 final results
The T12 championship at the Churchdown Community Centre (CCA Churchdown) final round was completed on the 3rd November 2023 and again we have some close matched races.
The GT12 First place was an easy win by Chris Baldwin this time and the battle was between Daniel Sparrow and Matthew Longman for second, which unfortunately for Matthew, Daniel had enough points in reserve and managed to keep ahead. It will be interesting to see how Ben Warren copes as he is flying up the leader board and should be a good challenge for the top slot soon.
Luke Drinan may finally have to do some extra work to keep his top spot place as Simon Wales broke to within one point of Luke this time, have to say it was a great battle between the two of them, so looking forward to the next battle. Duncan Wood comfortably took third although Wayne Meade was not far behind.
Our juniors were topped again by Jamie Meade taking first place, Although he did have a few issues with the car on the way, so he did cut it fine this time. The battle for second was super close between Fred Watson and Cat Mather but an extra 6 points kept Fred ahead leaving Cat in third again. Well done to Fred and better luck next time Cat.
Our buggies were as always held together by the White family, but unfortunately as the numbers were not high enough for a few weeks they were not able to achieve the required four scores to make the championship. We will have to see what we can do with that one.

GERCC Track Championship T11-001 final results
Our fourth track championship at the Churchdown Community Centre (CCA Churchdown) completed on the 8th September 2023 and again we have some close matched races..
The GT12 battle this time was between Daniel Sparrow and Matthew Longman which unfortunately for Matthew, Daniel kept under control and managed to keep ahead finally taking the top spot. So the fight was then for second place between Matthew and Martyn Waterhouse and it was close with only 3 points in it. It is great to See Martyn fighting for the trophy’s again.
It was also great to see the closeness of the positions below with very few points separating each of the drivers.
Luke Drinan seems to continue to be unstoppable at the moment and took the Mardave Mini top spot again with the max score of 240. Martyn Simms comfortably took second, leaving the fight for third between Andrew Mather and Wayne Meade Unfortunately, for Andrew, Wayne had such a strong last two weeks it gave him enough to steal third place by just 1 point… I did think of deducting points for running off with the transponder but thought better of it . . . Maybe next time we can add penalties…
Our juniors were topped again by Jamie Meade taking first place, so congratulations there. Sebastian Payne took second and third was taken by Cat Mather although we do wonder what would have been if dad had changed the motor earlier. Looking forward to seeing more juniors over the winter.
Our buggies were as always held together by the White family, with the occasional visitor to mix things up. Ben White was able to follow on from T10 with some great results, but is now in trouble as his sister Caitlin was able to make some massive improvements with a new handset, which actually did what you asked it to do WHEN you needed it to not when it thought you wanted it to. Can’t wait for the next track to see the continued improvements there.

GERCC Track Championship T10-001 final results
Our third track championship at the Churchdown Community Centre (CCA Churchdown) complete on the 14th July 2023 and we have some close matched races..
The GT12 crown was hard fought battle between Chris Baldwin and Daniel Sparrow which was all left to the last round. Unfortunately Daniel was just under 3 tenths slower than Chris in the final so had to settle for second. The rest of the drivers topped by our residential cameraman Kevin Schuck, seemed to step up this championship and were all much closer to each other with just under 30 points separating everyone out.
The popularity of the Mardave Mini seems to have brought so many drivers out it has given us quite a bit of freedom, We had 26 Mardave Mini’s over the last six weeks and 9 of them Juniors, so we have been able to split the championship. Luke Drinan seems to be unstoppable at the moment and took the top spot again, and finally got the max score of 240. Simon Wales continued to grow with the car and kept the second place with Duncan Wood holding onto 3rd..
Our juniors were topped by Jamie Meade taking 1st Jacob Bartlett taking Second and a big fight for 3rd between the twins Fred and Sid Watson with Sid having 2 extra point to hold the third place win.
Our buggies were again held together by the White family and Harry Cooper, with the occasional visitor to the mix things up. Ben White had continued to improve over the 6 weeks and tried so hard to keep in front of dad, (Ian White) but it was to no avail. Dad managed to jump over Ben in the end to take the 1st place trophy leaving Ben in second. Our top lady driver Caitlin managed to take 3rd this time. It was a close call between Harry and Caitlin for 3rd place but dad keeping Caitlin’s wheels on trumped Harrys lack of ability to charge up his transponder. Better luck next time.

GERCC Track Championship T9-001 final results
Our second track championship at the Churchdown Community Centre (CCA Churchdown) complete and we seemed to have spread out a bit more this time..
Chris Gunter had again taken the GT12 crown without much of a fight and a maximum score of 240… Another F1 RedBull in the pack I think there. Chris Baldwin was reasonably safe in 2nd place leaving the fight for 3rd to Chris Townsend , Daniel Sparrow and Sid Lawrence… Now I think Chris was still recovering from the horror of T8, losing the position by just 1 point to Sid, so he decided to watch the outcome form the comfort of his sofa. Daniel held his nerve and kept the pressure on and kept 3rd place.
The Mini’s were not quite as close this time as they were in T8 but Luke Drinan took the top spot again and did improve his score to 239 missing the max score by just 1 point. Newcomer to the Mini class Simon Wales just snuck 2nd from Duncan Wood who was in 3rd.. But well worth looking down the list as everyone had very close scores. It’s worth pointing out that the Mini has again taken over from the GT12 as the car to race at GERCC with over 22 drivers who raced T9.
Our buggies were again held together by the White family and Harry Cooper. It must be said though that Ben White had made a massive improvement over the 6 weeks and as I said before I am sure, it will not be long before he is regularly beating his father. Keeping our fingers crossed for Caitlin our top lady driver but need to get dad to bolt those wheels on properly so she can finish. Well done to Harry Cooper taking 3rd, it was a close call between Harry and Caitlin for 3rd place.

GERCC Track Championship T8-001 final results
With our first track championship at the Churchdown Community Centre (CCA Churchdown) complete you can see it was some very close racing.
Chris Gunter had decided he had done enough and sat out the last round leaving the fight on between Chris Baldwin, Chris Townsend and Sid Lawrence… Initially it looked like you needed to be a “Chris” to be in the top three but yet again Sid managed to sneak in with that one extra point to jump past Chris Townsend.
The Mini’s finished on three people all having 234 points… You could not make it up.. Using count back Luke Drinan took the overall win with two night wins then Ross Bartlett and Martyn Simms were fighting for second with one night win each but with Ross having a qually and a final win he takes the second spot.
Our buggies were a mixed bag over the six weeks and the sons did their beat their dads it was to no avail. Although Ben White certainly made a massive improvement over the past two weeks we are sure it won’t be long before he leapfrogs his dad..
